After graduating from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, David entered the life insurance business in 1975. He joined Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) as the General Agent in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1980, the youngest person ever appointed to this important position. At that time the agency was ranked 103 out of 103 agencies at MassMutual. With David’s leadership DBS Financial Group has become the largest MassMutual Agency in the state of Florida and one of the largest in the country.
David’s community involvement has included serving as past Chairman of the Board for the South Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Goodwill Industries of Broward County. He is past president of Soref Jewish Community Center, Ramat Shalom Synagogue and the Jewish Federation of Broward County. David is currently the chair of Special Education Committee of the Central Agency of Jewish Education (CAJE) and serves on the Board of Trustees for Nova Southeastern University School of Business. He is the treasurer of Jewish Family Services of Broward County and on the Board of Trustees for American Friends of Hebrew University. David also serves on the boards of the Foundations of Memorial Regional Hospital and Jewish Federation of Broward County.
David’s involvement with the South Florida Chapter of the NMSS dates back to over 25 years. He is currently the title sponsor of the Chapter’s MS Gala & Fashion Show, recognized as the largest luncheon/fashion show in Broward County.
David and his wife Carrie, live in Plantation, FL and are the parents of Stacey, Todd, son in-law Matthew and very proud grandparents of Brandon and Sammy.
