Fred joined Zimmerman in September 2004 as Executive Vice President, Media Services. Fred brings the unique combination of both client and agency media management experience to the agency.

In his present role, Fred is responsible for the agency's $3BB media budget. His team of over 100 media professionals handles numerous media planning and buying responsibilities. Fred is active daily in all client media planning and buying initiatives.

During his tenure, Fred is a key member of the new business team. The team has successfully won numerous accounts and agency of record media planning and buying assignments such as Friendly's, Crocs, hhgregg, Party City, Ashley Furniture Home Stores, Atlantis Bahamas Resort, Papa Johns, Carfax, Office Depot, and Pep Boys. He has initiated the ZADV Media Training program, a 10 week curriculum designed to educate and grow the agency's finest "Brandtailing" media talent. Fred has also led the agency's "Market Specialist" media buying initiative that provides clients with reduced costs through superior media leverage. And Fred has inspired a leading edge attitude within the department with pilots for Media Monitors and ComScore for business intelligence products designed to ensure that clients receive exactly what they expect from the media. Fred has also inspired a more vocal and visible culture within the agency by editing a monthly newsletter, ZMEDIA Update and by submitting a growing number of entries into the Creative Media Plan Competition hosted by the major news media.

Prior to his arrival at Zimmerman, Fred was the Vice President of Media services at AutoNation Inc., the largest automobile retailer in the world and #97 on the Fortune 100. Fred was a key component of the marketing and management team that created a unique business model that revolutionized the automotive retail market forever.

Prior to AutoNation, Fred was Executive Vice President, Media Services with Harris Drury Cohen and SRVP Director of Media Planning with Jordan McGrath Case and Taylor in New York, New York.

Fred is active in community affairs including organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Women in Distress. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the South Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and has served on the Board of the Society since 1999. In 2006, he led a team of 54 riders for the Maroone MS 150 Bike Tour successfully helping to raise $1,000,000+, a tour record. In 2006, Fred duplicated this effort at Zimmerman and helped raise a record $1.5MM. In 2007, the Zimmerman team totaled 200 riders and raised a record $240K for the event which grossed $1.9MM-a new record. This year, ZMOTION will raise over $370,000 as the entitlement sponsor of the Zimmerman MS Bike Ride Presented by Wachovia. The event will deliver record attendance and fundraising of over $2.1MM.

Fred's passion for media is rivaled only by his passion for his daughter Emily (age22) who was recently graduated Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University as an Education Major and leading the MS Walk activities there. Emily will attend University of South Florida in the fall pursuing her Graduate degree. His son Craig (age 19) is attending the Florida State University and is a beginning MS Fundraiser. Fred is supported by his wife Donna and they will be celebrating 28 years of marriage this year. When he is not in the Fort Lauderdale area, Fred still works 24/7 at his weekend beach home on Sanibel Island, Florida where he enjoys golf, sea kayaking, and road biking around the island at the crack of dawn.
